they cannot get it into their heads that an MPEG rip is just a data file...

now it doesn't play properly, i don't know why because it played okay on thursday..

they are asking me why i didn't chase them yesterday.. i told them outright it's going to be the same damned file.. on CD, DVD, thumb drive, HDD or whatever..

to them they keep saying VCD.. i have told them over and over these few months that it is NOT a VCD.. and they keep saying it is Mad

i'm not going to rescue them.. they're in yishun.. i told them to use the thumbdrive and they don't want to.. tomorrow, they have some event to go to which they need to use the thing.. again, i told them to use the thumbdrive... i don't know if they will..

i'm going to get flak on monday.. and i'll probably blow up at the boss if this continues..

i hate it when people are ignorant, wrong about it and insist they are right Mad

if I didn't face similar problems with trying to show fucking videos or presentations because of all the fucking hardware/security/whatever limitations, I'd find it hard to believe you Laughing

i tested it on thursday.. it worked..

i don't know what the hell they did.. it isn't working now...

mpegs are not supposed to run at super high speed.. especially when 13 minutes are crammed into 670MB

I have a video presentation I need to show at the end of the month, because management wants 'high quality', I'm just going to bring my own fucking dvd player and hook it up to the projector in the conference room.

Yes, our PCs all do not have DVD drives and our DVD players are the ancient type that probably cannot even read my DVDrs Laughing

they'd probably want a completely new notebook or whatever it is when i've told them ad nauseum to go buy a cheap DVD player to bring with us... it's bloody smaller than a notebook and will not screw up..

i hope the new guy coming in on monday will tip the scales.. he's supposed to be an IT grad

in windows media player, if you press the forward button while the movie is playing, it will go super fast. even stopping the file and re-playing it again does not help.

to go back to normal speed , get them to click the reverse button ONCE while the video is playing.

yeah, its retarded when a dvd player smaller, lighter and only costing less than 100 bucks will do the trick.

i saw one at Giant.. it's $36

will play DVDr... mp3s, you know.. the works.. except divx and all that...

it's about half the size of normal DVD players..

oh.. i have a question... it's about resolution and photography... digital, that is..

if i have a good camera.. say, a D70, D80 or maybe even a D2Xs

i snap a picture at its highest resolution, maybe even RAW..

will i have problems with pixellation if i SHRINK the picture?

if so, will getting a 'high end' camera like a Hasselblad improve the quality of the shrunk picture?

how large a screen do you want to display the photo?

also take into account viewing distance. pixelation/jagged edges may not be visible to the human eye if you're standing at normal viewing distance, rendering the whole point moot e.g. giant ass blowups from 4 megapixel cameras have been used on billboards and stuff.

for example, look at a typical painting from normal distance and then closeup.
